A Trip To The Past |
| On July 20th, 1996 we held our first of what we hope to be biannual family reunions. It was well attended by family from Massachusetts, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, and all parts of Nova Scotia. We held it in Bridgewater, at the Fairview Hotel. After a delectable sampling of Nova Scotia wines and cheeses, and much talk of the family, we sat down to a lovely turkey dinner. Following the banquet some of us chose to remain and chat, while others went on a wonderful sunset cruise on Lunenburg Harbour. Sunday brought a church service in Lunenburg, which Captain Brian Wentzell assisted with. We then adjorned to the Fisheries Museum restaurant for a pleasant Sunday brunch. All those who attended enjoyed the weekend, and the new friends they met. September 26/27, 1998 is the date of our next reunion. We have chosen to hold this in Lunenburg, at the Lunenburg War Memorial Community Center, as this is the area where the Wentzel(l) family started it's strong hold in Nova Scotia. We (the directors) have many an idea rolling around in our collective heads for this weekend, but as it is for everyone we would love to hear from you with your ideas and suggestions.
